This Grade 12 Psychology rubric is designed to assess students’ understanding of key psychological concepts; theories; and research methods while promoting critical thinking and analytical skills. The rubric evaluates students across multiple dimensions; including knowledge acquisition; application of psychological principles; research proficiency; and communication clarity. By providing clear expectations; the rubric helps students focus on mastering essential learning objectives while encouraging self-reflection and improvement. The knowledge and understanding category measures students’ grasp of foundational psychological theories; such as developmental; cognitive; and social psychology. Students must demonstrate accurate recall and comprehension of key terms and concepts. The application and analysis section assesses their ability to apply psychological principles to real-world scenarios; interpret research findings; and evaluate the validity of psychological studies. This fosters deeper engagement with the material and strengthens problem-solving skills. Research and inquiry skills are evaluated based on students’ ability to design; conduct; and analyze psychological investigations. This includes formulating hypotheses; selecting appropriate methodologies; and interpreting data ethically. These competencies prepare students for postsecondary studies and careers in psychology or related fields. Finally; the communication and presentation category evaluates clarity; organization; and professionalism in written and oral work; ensuring students can articulate psychological ideas effectively.
