The Grade 12 CAS (Creativity; Activity; Service) rubric is designed to assess students’ engagement and growth in three key areas: creativity; physical activity; and community service. This rubric evaluates students’ ability to demonstrate initiative; perseverance; and reflection while participating in meaningful experiences outside the classroom. The criteria emphasize personal development; collaboration; and a commitment to ethical and social responsibility. In the Creativity component; students are assessed on their ability to explore new ideas; develop original projects; and express themselves through arts; problem-solving; or other innovative endeavors. This fosters critical thinking; adaptability; and a willingness to take risks. The Activity component evaluates students’ dedication to physical challenges; promoting lifelong habits of health and well-being. Participation in sports; fitness; or outdoor pursuits encourages discipline; resilience; and teamwork. The Service component measures students’ contributions to their communities; focusing on empathy; civic engagement; and sustainable impact. By addressing real-world needs; students develop a sense of global citizenship and social awareness. Reflection is a core requirement across all three areas; as students must analyze their experiences; identify learning outcomes; and connect them to personal and academic growth. The rubric ensures a balanced approach to holistic education; encouraging students to step beyond their comfort zones and cultivate skills essential for future success. Through CAS; students build confidence; leadership; and a deeper understanding of their role in society. The assessment criteria align with international educational standards; preparing students for higher education and responsible global participation.
