This Grade 11 Statistics rubric is designed to assess students’ understanding and application of key statistical concepts in a clear and structured manner. The rubric evaluates four main areas: data collection and representation; statistical analysis; interpretation of results; and communication of findings. Each category is scored on a scale from limited to excellent; providing students with specific feedback on their strengths and areas for improvement. In data collection and representation; students are assessed on their ability to gather relevant data; choose appropriate sampling methods; and create accurate visual representations such as graphs and charts. The statistical analysis section measures proficiency in calculating measures of central tendency; variability; and probability; as well as applying correct formulas and techniques. Interpretation of results evaluates whether students can draw meaningful conclusions from data; identify trends; and recognize potential biases or limitations. Finally; communication of findings assesses clarity; organization; and the use of proper statistical terminology in written or oral presentations. This rubric supports student learning by providing clear expectations and consistent evaluation criteria. It encourages critical thinking; problem-solving; and effective communication of statistical concepts. By identifying specific areas for growth; the rubric helps students refine their skills and deepen their understanding of statistics. Teachers can use this tool to guide instruction; track progress; and ensure fair and transparent assessment. Overall; the rubric fosters a structured approach to learning statistics while preparing students for advanced coursework and real-world data analysis.
