The Grade 10 Individuals & Societies (World History & Global Issues) rubric is designed to assess students’ understanding of key historical events; global interconnectedness; and contemporary challenges. It evaluates their ability to analyze historical contexts; recognize patterns; and engage critically with global issues. The rubric emphasizes the development of research; critical thinking; and communication skills; which are essential for academic success and informed citizenship. Students are assessed on their knowledge of world history; including major civilizations; conflicts; and movements that shaped modern societies. They demonstrate comprehension by identifying causes and effects; comparing perspectives; and evaluating historical sources. This fosters a deeper appreciation for diverse cultures and the complexities of human development. The rubric also measures students’ engagement with global issues such as climate change; inequality; and geopolitical conflicts. By examining these topics; students learn to connect historical events to current challenges; developing empathy and problem-solving skills.
