This rubric is designed to assess student performance in lower grades Spanish classes; covering common subjects such as vocabulary; grammar; listening; speaking; reading; and writing. The criteria are aligned with foundational language skills to ensure students develop a strong base in Spanish while fostering confidence and engagement. For vocabulary; students are evaluated on their ability to recognize and use age-appropriate words and phrases in context. Mastery at this level ensures they can communicate basic ideas and understand simple instructions. Grammar assessment focuses on correct usage of fundamental structures; such as verb conjugations; gender agreement; and sentence formation.
