The Grade 11 World Languages (IB DP level) rubric is designed to assess students’ language proficiency across four key skill areas: listening; speaking; reading; and writing. This rubric aligns with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme standards; ensuring a rigorous and comprehensive evaluation of students’ abilities. By using this rubric; educators can provide clear; objective feedback that helps students understand their strengths and areas for improvement. The listening component evaluates students’ comprehension of spoken language in various contexts; including formal presentations and informal conversations. The speaking assessment measures fluency; accuracy; and the ability to communicate ideas effectively; encouraging confidence and clarity in oral expression. Reading proficiency is assessed through students’ understanding of written texts; including literary and non-literary works. The writing component evaluates coherence; creativity; and grammatical accuracy; helping students refine their ability to construct well-organized and persuasive written arguments. Using this rubric promotes a structured approach to language learning; ensuring students meet high academic standards. The rubric encourages self-assessment; allowing students to track their progress and set goals for further development.
