Grade 6 Novel Studies Rubric Description This rubric is designed to assess students’ comprehension; analysis; and engagement with a novel in a Grade 6 classroom. It evaluates key skills such as reading comprehension; critical thinking; written expression; and participation in discussions. The rubric provides clear expectations to guide students in their learning while allowing teachers to measure progress consistently. The first category assesses reading comprehension; focusing on students’ ability to summarize plot events; identify key themes; and describe characters with accuracy.
